I am a modern composer attempting to integrate the contrapuntal style of fugal-voice writing with polyphony, in addition to 5th Species Counterpoint(namely 4th Species to provide rhythmic rather than melodic resolution); I utilize applied counterpoint to create musical movements and alter my motif without playing notes againsd it which presumably interfere with harmonic intervals created by the "species counterpoint." The result is a soothing yet subtly forgettable tune that takes advantage of chord progressions while rarely repeating notes; my compositions are always written in Cmajor/circle-progression to simplify transposition for the purchasers.
